Help! Sarah Wray Hall needs a new roof!

Help us replace the aging roof on this historic one-room schoolhouse in Garden Bay, Pender Harbour

Sarah Wray HallAfter three unsuccessful grant applications this year, we're now urgently fundraising for a new roof for Sarah Wray Hall. The roof is deteriorating and moss-covered, and at over 30 years old, it's unsafe, and at risk of leaking.

Built in 1931, Sarah Wray Hall (originally Irvines Landing School) is one of the few remaining one-room schoolhouse structures in BC. The building was extensively renovated by volunteers under the auspices of the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society between 2008 and 2014 and re-opened as Sarah Wray Hall in 2014. We must preserve this resource, which is now the harbour's Heritage Centre and a local community meeting place.

Our usual fundraising has been severely curtailed as a result of COVID and our grant applications were not successful. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to help fund this project.

Send your donation via cheque or etransfer. For more information and instructions on how to donate, please see our websiteTax receipts are available for donations over $20.

All donations are greatly appreciated! Stay tuned for more fundraising activities coming up.
