Announcing the release of NBS’ ARISE web-series
A four-part documentary web-series capturing one extraordinary year

It is with great pleasure that we share NBS’ ARISE documentary web-series, presenting the stories of three NBS Professional Ballet-Academic Program students, their families and their teachers, as they navigated this unique period in history. Developed by filmmaker Martin Edralin over the 2020/21 school year, the episodes follow Jane, Marley and Wesley for an inside look at their journeys to NBS and their training during the pandemic.

The web-series is part of NBS’ ARISE campaign, an initiative created to address a unique need at this unique moment. ARISE shares stories of resilience and innovation—from studios and stages to digital environments—in order to inspire support for NBS programs that help more people experience the joy and benefits of dance. We are thankful to everyone who has signalled their belief in the power of dance by supporting ARISE so far.

If you enjoy this web-series, please consider making a donation to support students like Jane, Marley and Wesley—making an enduring impact on their future education, career paths and on the dance sector as a whole. When you donate through ARISE, your support drives the creation and expansion of world-class programs—like NBS’ Professional Ballet Program and Community Dance initiatives—that share the life-changing impact of dance.
