Dear friends,

there has been a lot of little projects that have been started and pushed through since the last updates I shared with you. The construction of our two new children's houses in Village of Hope continued, one is finished and the other is half-way!
Our big new farm's clearing so that it can be fully utilized for planting vegetables has had amazing progress too as you can see on the photos. I was able to work on so much more because of the backhoe that is definitely an invaluable asset to our work.
I am so grateful because there are crops already planted and can be harvested soon.
Aside from all these, we also started a project in the community of Sitio Pulo, a slum community near Village of Hope which is a flood-prone area but it's still submerged enough that boats are the only means to travel to and from it, as well as to transport goods and harvested vegetables planted by the residents.
Many houses were affected badly by last year's rain/typhoon season. And due to the pandemic restrictions, it took us a long time to bring suitable help.

Thankfully, we are now able to finish our house rebuilding project just in time before another typhoon season starts.
Many families can only afford houses made of scraps of wood, old GI sheets, and worn out tarpaulins. But we are so grateful to many friends, churches and partners who collectively support us, enabling us to continuously help people in need. There are 35 houses that are undergoing repair and rebuilding at the moment.
With these updates, we encourage you to continue praying with us:
  • Pray that the construction work in Village of Hope will finish smoothly.
  • Pray that our workers in the farm will be kept healthy and strong despite the rapidly changing weather.
  • Pray that our house rebuilding project will be finished well and that the residences of Sitio Pulo will have open hearts, hearing ears and seeing eyes to sense God's love and salvation for them through this project.
  • Pray for our the people we serve adults and children alike that they will continuously grow in their relationship with Jesus and develop responsible and disciplined characters.

  WELCOME WITH US, MARY JOY!.

Mary Joy is 8 years old. She lived all her life in the harsh streets, born to a poor and big family of nine who lived on a sidewalk in one of the cities of Manila. The only shelter they have is a pushcart carrying loads of worn out tarpaulin sheets that they lay out when it's raining.

They take shade on any available tree by the street side when the heat is unbearable. This precious girl has never gone to school, cannot read nor write and has been bullied in the streets by other kids. Joy also begged for money so that she could buy food. She does not know what a goat or what turkeys look like.

Her parents realize that she needs better care and that's how their little brave girl came to us. And yesterday, we finally met her!

If you would like to sponsor Joy, please let us know by signing up in our website. Just click on the button here to get in contact with us and know more about this precious child. It is wonderful that Joy is in our care now in Village of Hope, with us she can study and learn many new things. Please pray that she would adjust well to her new environment and she'll experience and know God's love in this place.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer, we appreciate it so much and we feel your covering.

God bless and keep you all!

Much love and warm greetings,
Carsten Aust and Family
