FAIRVIEW COLUMNS

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

FAIRVIEW COLUMNS
Fairview Family, I'm looking forward to worship with you this Sunday. I find worship to be nourishing always, but particularly in the midst of a hard week. I know many of you have much on your hearts, and we can bring those to God because we find our comfort in Him.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comfort us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

You'll see these prayer requests below, but I want to give special attention to a few of them now so you might lift up these families. Jill Peden passed away this morning (Friday) following a stroke earlier in the week. Please also keep James and Kate Anderson in your prayers following the death of James' father Doug. And please lift up Martha Taylor with her son, Dan, in hospice. Thank you for the love and care you have shown and will show to these families.

As for this Sunday, you can see the order of worship here.

Grace be with you.
~Kenny

SESSION/ DIACONATE COMBINED MEETING

Our elders and deacons will meet together as we usually do once a quarter. Officers, please note this time and make plans to be with us.

CHILDREN'S VOLUNTEER TRAINING
July 11, 6 p.m., FLC
Our children are a gift from the Lord, an answer to prayer, and in need of shepherding and biblical instruction just like any of us. We try to provide various opportunities for our children to be nurtured in the Lord. We also provide a safe environment for this time with our children. For these reasons, we ask our children's ministry volunteers to complete a short but important training. This is typically done online or via a written test. This year, with so many who need to be retrained in accord with our child protection policy, we are going to provide the training for you, if you would prefer. You are invited to come out that evening; we will have light refreshments and walk through the training together. We will notify you within the next week if it's time for you to be retrained. Questions? Email Kenny Maple or speak with Lynn McCarter.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL/ TALENT SHOW

ROADWORK
The bridge on Phillips Lane between Fairview Church Rd. and Nash Mill Rd. will be closed for a couple of months beginning next Tuesday. I know this is a route many of you take from Fountain Inn or from the interstate. Adjust accordingly.
