RUDY'S "FAVE FIVE"
RUDY ESPINOZA | Executive Director, Inclusive Action*
*2013 and 2018 My LA2050 Grants Challenge Winner

PLAY:  I love running! When I need to get a jog in at the end of the day, I love running through the streets of Highland Park and up through Occidental College in Eagle Rock.
CREATE:  For me, nothing is more special than Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights. There, you can hang out in a beautiful public space and listen to mariachis play music.
CONNECT:  City Hall is such an important building for civic engagement and gatherings. My hope is that more and more people get comfortable visiting, listening in to meetings, and getting familiar with where decisions are made that impact our communities.
LEARN:  What better place to learn than at our libraries? I've really come to appreciate the power of our city's libraries that not only offer books (online and in physical form), but also host workshops and seminars on a variety of things. Our libraries are a vital infrastructure to help people access social services too!
LIVE:  The pandemic has helped me appreciate public spaces more than ever! I'm so grateful for public sidewalks and parks and where street vendors, artists, and community members can gather and enjoy our great city.
