Opinion

Hello <<First Name>>,

Joe HydeThe judge threw out the Santa Rita Good ‘Ol Boys complaint against the Lifepoint Baptist Church, Tumbleweeds Gymnastics, and the City of San Angelo. Since the special use permit from 2019 was replaced with the new and improved special use permit obtained this month, plaintiff Winkie Wardlaw et. al.’s complaint is moot, since their lawsuit only railed against the 2019 permit.

But Mr. Wardlaw isn’t finished. He still wants his attorneys fees, all $100,000 of them, as specified in earlier court filings.

How can one lose a lawsuit and then be awarded attorneys’ fees? This does not make sense! While Mr. Wardlaw reaches for all the money in that church’s offering plate, he should ponder what UT head football coach Darrell Royal once said:

“When you throw a pass three things can happen to it, and two of them are bad.”

We’ll have more about the case tomorrow.

Certainly a step in the right direction, although since he had a badge on at the time he should have gotten life, but the legal system did a good job this time. Protests work, this is proof. Now we need to work harder to strip qualified immunity and hold all "law enforcement" accountable for depriving citizens of their rights, which happens everyday.

ME Someone, Fri, 06/25/2021 - 16:27

Power outages, bridges collapsing, undrivable roads. The current situation under republican "leadership" sounds a whole lot like that "socialism" that they keep saying will happen if we get healthcare and a livable wage. I am starting to thing that republicans are not being entirely honest with us, or themselves.

The vote for Joe Biden was not necessarily a vote for Joe himself, it was a vote against trump. America rejected trump and republicans, get over it already.

Looks like a retirement home gathering.
J H, Fri, 06/25/2021 - 16:14

I see a lot of old people in that crowd. I would expect gray hairs with plenty of money. If the Republicans want to hold Texas you better start including, actively recruit some of the young people that are in love with Beto.

State that Illegally changed election rules
John Roberts, Fri, 06/25/2021 - 13:10

5 states illegally changed rules before November Elections! Look them up yourself! Most likely won’t find anything about it on your ABC, NBC,MSNBC,CNN or Fox! Since they’ve all ignored anything pertaining to Elections, other than deny anything whatsoever Fraudulent could take place! Some of it happened and was shown Election Day and several days afterwards! It was on CCV at several polling locations, State Camera’s that are permanently installed on location’s!  Doesn’t matter if who your for or against! Dem or Rep!  If you choose to ignore any of what was shown and the almost 2000 signed sworn affidavits and the fact that a lot of these people actually testified to what they witnessed! Pole workers and Watchers witnessed it. Dem and Rep. Now good ole Corrupt Georgia Election Official ADMITTED he IGNORED what his election pole workers and watchers put in writing to him and good ole Kemp! Admitted it after he found out that is public record! No investigation’s were done on anything in any state! FBI and DOJ lied from day one and claimed to have spoken to people that witnessed and brought any of it up and STATED the witnesses changed there story’s when confronted!  Blatant LIE! Several of them contacted media that day and said NOBODY from any law enforcement agency, local, state nor FBI or CIA or anyone else contacted a single one of them!  Anyway! No matter what comes of it if anything! It’s not going to change the outcome regardless this time!! But I have a problem with it all being INVESTIGATED 100% and F anyone that takes issue with that! I want a rational explanation from someone other that a politician no matter which party!!  All of you should want it and if you don’t care then that’s your choice. But I’m fed up with all the attacks over differences of opinion and people claiming asking anyone for a PHOTO ID TO VOTE is RACIST needs to pull your head out your own back side.  That is the most pathetic excuse there is! That is nothing but racist and certain people’s agenda to keep dividing Citizens Period!

5 states illegally changed the rules before Nov Elections
John Roberts, Fri, 06/25/2021 - 06:44

Look them up yourself.  Most of the states being questioned for fraudulent elections since Nov are involved though. And I could care less if your Dem or Rep!  Any vote illegally cast or counted should make all Citizens Question it? Not going to change Nov Election at this point but if any issues are proven it matters next election! Unless you really do want a civil war in this country!! Because we deserve a legitimate Investigation!!  To all the complaints brought up by sworn affidavits by pole workers and pole watchers!! STATE OF GEORGIA ELECTION OFFICIAL HAS ADMITTED THEY HAD ISSUES AND HE IGNORED THEM SO DID THE GOV.! They were notified in writing about issues and have been claiming how great and smooth and the election went!  Until they figured out the complaints are public record 7-8 days ago!!

Don't forget that if you are anonymous and speak your first amendment rights here Kendal Hemphill thinks you are a coward. He also wants to threaten and harass people that have their own opinions of his "articles" that he does not like. He won't even answer any questions unless you give him your real name, no doubt so he can send someone to persuade you to have a better opinion of you, seems he takes his tactics from russia. How being a coward for exercising your right to free speech even makes any sense is anyone but a republicans guess, you know how much they hate the constitution.

Don't worry we know that republicans don't have the intellectual ability for abstract thought, so the fact you can't answer simple questions is no surprise at all. You still have your coping mechanism which is to insult people though I see.

YES,
ME Someone, Thu, 06/24/2021 - 14:20

See, I knew one of you republicans would eventually admit that you don't care about children. Here is a republican blatantly saying that he wants to kill children by pushing them out of an airplane.

Of course none of it is going to matter anyway..,not as long as there are brain dead liberals and a complicit leftist media unwilling to hold her accountable.

Jeff L, Thu, 06/24/2021 - 10:49

This city reeks of degenerates and to see it in our own council reps is really no shock at all. It's like the judges here are more than ok with the sexual mistreatment of adolescents and probably get a little action on the side themselves. It's pathetic to say the least.

Sooooooooo
Jeff L, Thu, 06/24/2021 - 10:47

What's next a little cash exchange and some probation?

It’s not just republicans…
Blanco9, Thu, 06/24/2021 - 10:02

It’s not just republicans saying Kamala isn’t doing enough…that’s coming from democrats too including U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (D).

I’m going to predict what’s going to happen. No touring of facilities, and if she does the press won’t be allowed in. If Kamala even leaves the airport, and if she does I would be surprised, she’ll just go to the International Bridge for a photo op. And a few words…like “root causes” blah blah blah, “the border is under control” blah blah blah, “don’t come” blah blah blah, a couple of “si se puedas” to make people feel like she’s one of them and maybe that story about when she was in her stroller at a political rally and told her mom she wanted “fweedom” ;)

ME Someone, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 23:16

I didn't oversimplify it, I said you never prove your point because you can't, therefore you are lying. If you would like to prove me wrong, start proving your positions, until then you are always assumed to be lying, which is the simplest explanation as to why you don't prove your point.

Blanco9, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 23:14

I thought Kamala said she has already been to the border?

She must have meant On the Border where she had enchiladas, chips and salsa ;)

What’s her next stop Europe?…
Blanco9, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 23:05

What’s her next stop Europe? Lol. I personally can’t wait to hear what Kamala has to say. At least now she will be able to TRUTHFULLY say that she’s been to the border…of course it took being upstaged by Trump for her to finally get off her dead ass and go.

I know what it means you…
Blanco9, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 22:52

I know what it means you dullard!

The problem with applying it to a political discussion is it’s actually an oversimplification of a complex issue, as well as a LAME attempt to silence opposing views ;)

Nothing is ever good enough for republicans.

Well,
ME Someone, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 19:19

republicans: The VP hasn't visited the border yet

VP: I am scheduling a visit to the border.

republicans: Not good enough, you must do this and this and this to satisfy us, and even if you do that we will still gripe.

You can't please these people, they won't even accept legal election results if they loose. They do not have the intellectual ability to reason. Mitch McConnel even said his entire goal is to disrupt legislation from passing. Trump had the longest government shutdown in history under his term. They do not care about America or it's people, they care about themselves and winning, and will throw a temper tantrum like toddlers if they loose, as evidenced by all of the voter suppression bills they have passed in states that are not even contested, and the fact that they tried to stop the electoral votes from being counted (while assaulting those police they claim to love) and install their own dictator.

It means, basically, that the simplest answer is most often the correct one.

Blanco9, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 13:44

Simple. They’re codifying voting laws to prevent what happened in other states from happening in Texas. You know, because of COViD ;)

Why do you think democrats are doing all the fear mongering they’re hoping to draw it all out through the midterms. Not surprised democrats are just doing what they do…”never let a crisis go to waste”.

Well,
ME Someone, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 13:37

So then you are lying, that's why you never prove your positions, because you can't, because you are lying. Occams razor.

Blanco9, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 12:41

As for the so-called “insurrection”…blame Mayor Bowser! She had 340 national guard troops at her disposal she put them on TRAFFiC CONTROL.

Well,
ME Someone, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 12:35

So you dont care if they are trying enter legally of not, I knew you would eventually admit it.

According to you this policy was only in place in 2020, it couldn't have made that much of a difference in only a year anyway.

Well,
ME Someone, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 12:32

You are going to need to show some proof of this. But I am sure you are just lying as usual, even if you think you are right I will just prove you wrong like have several times in the past.

Well,
ME Someone, Wed, 06/23/2021 - 12:29

Its actually the Republicans who are upset with the Democrats doing the same thing as Republicans have done in the past. If it isn't voter suppression why do they need to change the law in a state that had a secure and non contested election?
