It doesn't happen often in our corner of the country, but the next few days are going to be record-breaking HOT! The forecast for tomorrow is expected to break 100, with temps climbing even hotter on Sunday. We don't have fans and air conditioners to give those without, but we do have buildings with cooler air and lots of space. That means you can come on Sunday morning to cool off, then you might want to grab some lunch and come back to hang out.
For those who are interested, we're planning to have both RVCC Parkland and RVCC Graham open on Sunday from Noon to 6:00pm for those would like a cooler place to spend the afternoon.
We're only providing the space, so you would need to bring:
Something to do -books, puzzles, games, toys, crafts, laptops/iPads, etc.
Anything you want to eat or drink - there is refrigerator space available in both locations, but no ice, no means of cooking, etc.
Wi-fi is available, but it will get glitchy if lots of people are trying to stream, so have alternatives to filling your time with a movie.
Hosts Needed
If you've placed membership at RVCC and would be willing to take a two hour shift hosting this time, we'd love to hear from you. What this entails is keeping an eye on things, welcoming those who come, answering questions if you know the answer, and reaching out to to the staff if you don't.
