Raising Awareness and Saving Lives

International Lightning Safety Day (ILSD) marks the 10th anniversary of the day when 18 children were killed and another 38 injured by a single lightning strike at Runyanya Primary School in Uganda.

Lightning is the MOST COMMON WEATHER THREAT TO LIFE that people all over the planet are confronted with, sometimes on a daily basis and often with little knowledge of how to avoid its consequences.

For this reason, lightning safety activists and other concerned people from all over the world have decided to gather and to dedicate this special event to raising awareness of lightning-related risks.

Find out in a special conference: who they are and what they do to improve the safety of citizens facing storms.
Participate in our event and discover life-saving actions carried out around the world to protect people from lightning. Help us promote ILSD to the international community
