Yvette Baker Trophy Final - 4th July

CLOK have a small but experience team of juniors travelling to the YBT final on 4th of July at the Westonbirt National Arboretum in Gloucestershire. We are taking part in the Yvette Baker Shield, a trophy we won a few years ago, which is a competition for smaller clubs based on number of juniors. The event is run over the yellow, orange, light green and green course with 5 juniors to count to the team score. Our juniors attending are Dominic and Liam Green, Katie and Evan Jones, and Natalie, George and James Martin. Good luck to all and have great runs in the arboretum. Also a big thanks to the three sets of parents being willing to drive to Gloucestershire for the event and thanks to the club for paying the entry fees.

The next Junior team competition the club was hoping to enter was the Peter Palmer relay in September, but I believe it has now been cancelled.

CLOK Social – Friday 9th July

A reminder about the CLOK social evening happening on Friday 9th July. It will be from 5:30pm - 10pm at East Harlsey Village Hall (DL6 2DB, GR SE423997, what3words tickles.prancing.highbrow). Weather permitting, we will be outside with a maximum of 30 people and tables of up to six (indoors if wet). Bring your own food and drinks, although you can use the hard standing for a small barbecue. Everything else is FREE, including tea and coffee (available from 8:00-8:30pm). We plan to have an orienteering maze with a couple of courses so bring your SI card (not touch free). Or bring some recent O-maps to find out how you could have navigated those tricky legs at Aislaby Quarry or Hutton Mulgrave & Skelder! Because of the limited numbers, book your place with an email to peter.archer46@gmail.com or ring on 01609 882420. It will be “first come, first served”. As well as enjoying yourself, remember to keep safe by hand sanitising, social distancing and wearing a mask when not sat down.
