GIRO Data Center is still offline

as IT continues to restore Internet services after a hacker attack

Dear <<First Name (Informal)>>,

Good news: we were able to test GIRO data center servers in detail to find no damage to the data integrity after a recent cyber attack on the UML campus. However, their external connection to the Internet remains disabled "out of an abundance of caution". GIRO Data Center is still offline.

We reached out to the university IT team twice to request the reopening of GIRO operations to be moved up in the list of priorities. However, we still do not have the expected time when our operation is fully restored.

GIRO ionosondes continue to buffer undelivered data; we do not expect data loss.

Very sorry for the inconvenience.
We hope to be back to normal operations soon.
