We're looking forward to welcoming Rev. Bill Roberts and his wife, Lisa, into our Epworth family. While they are still getting settled in and acclimated, you may reach out to Sis Mills or Rev. Karen Kaser-Odor until July 6.

Rev. Roberts' first Sunday with us in worship is July 11.

We look forward to John Shepherd bringing our message on July 4.

Mrs. Teresa will be on vacation July 3-10. If you have an emergency, do not hesitate to contact her on her cell at 704-239-3811.  Otherwise, she will get back with you as soon as possible after her vacation.

JULY SMILE PROJECT

The Smile Project has been an invaluable way for us to connect with people who need to be reminded of how wonderful and loved they are through a simple homemade greeting card. To participate, sign up for a Smile Project packet and we'll provide you with materials, instructions and the names and addresses.  We have a list with 60 names and are happy to add more if you've got someone in mind.  Next round of packets will be ready to go the morning of Sunday, July 11 or during the week 9am-1pm. Contact Mrs. Teresa for more info.

SUNDAY FUNDAY | JULY 18 | 1:30pm

In collaboration with Church Council and the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, we're happy to be part of welcoming Pastor Bill and Lisa Roberts to Epworth. PROJECT EDUCATION HONDURAS

After a lengthy wait, we're excited to announce that we're able to re-engage our Honduran mission this Fall. The Project Education team consists of Teresa and Dennis Gray, Scott Randolph, Taylor Bodenheimer, Allison Hicks and Dr. Kayla Garcia. The primary focus of this mission is to provide support for schools and teachers but there will be a couple of repair and renovation projects as well. Please be in prayer as this team prepares for its mission and for the Honduran natives with whom they are partnering (Roxanna and Misael, Steve and Audrey, Iris, and Sandra and Jimmy).  This trip is scheduled for  Oct 4 -11.

CAMP EPWORTH UPDATE

Camp Epworth is thriving this summer. We have over 100 pre-school and elementary-aged kids with us Monday - Thursday. We fill the days with praise and worship, learning about the beatitudes, crafts, outdoor playtime and visits from Papa Robb's Paradise Ice truck.  We'll be closed July 5-8 in observance of July 4 holiday.

Y O U T H   M I N I S T R Y   &   S T U D E N T    M I S S I O N S

Nothing's better in the summertime than fiercely competitive, no-holds barred kickball game!  We want to field two teams of DUH!SCIPLES (present and past), a few adventurous parents and let's throw your siblings in for good measure.

Sport your tube socks, bring a few snacks to share and we'll make an evening of it.
Spectators and hecklers WELCOME!

REGISTRATION CLOSES JULY 6

Last call to get registered for 2021 Backyard!  There's so many ways we can do good stuff for people right here in our community; home repairs, yard work, odd jobs and random acts of kindness!  Why sit on your donkey when you can change the world?

Camp is geared towards rising 6th-12th graders and ridiculously cool adults. Cost is $100 (Adult mentors your camp fee is covered but still need you registered!)

Thank you to everyone who supported Backyard's t-shirt fundraiser. You clearly have impeccable taste and fashion sense! Between donations and t-shirt sales we locked down about $750 to use towards materials and supplies. Your shirts are scheduled to arrive around July 14. We can't wait to see you wearing them!

We are thrilled to be offering a handmade quilt by Jewell Parker as part of a UMW fundraiser. For every donation that is made to Epworth UMW (including the Call to Prayer and Self Denial or World Thank Offering programs), general donations or donations that are made to one of our sponsored campaigns or local missions, the donor's name will be entered into the drawing. The winning name will be drawn and announced on Sunday, Nov 14.
