Letter from Neighborhood Services Coordinator

Happy Summer! I am excited to be working with all the neighborhoods and planning events for the Fall and Spring. I've noticed a lot of neighborhoods are busy reconnecting and celebrating the return of normalcy. I want to remind you of all the ways the Neighborhood Services Department can assist you and your neighborhood.

• Block Party Trailer - Schedule a block party and reserve the Block Party Trailer for free. The calendar fills up fast, so request the trailer today! 
• Neighborhood issues - Email me your issue and I will connect you to the appropriate person within the city to help and I will follow up to make sure neighborhood concerns are heard. 
• Neighborhood Conference - A conference is being planned for the Spring and will include educational and sharing opportunities for renters, homeowners and HOA leaders. If you have a topic you would like to be included please share your idea with me. 

Summertime allows us to be out more in our neighborhoods more so please remember to: 

• Be a good neighbor
• Watch out for children playing on the sidewalks, in the streets, driveways and yards
• Welcome new neighbors

Did You Know

• Trash and recycling rates increase July 1 for residential and commercial customers. Residential customers will see $1.60 per home increase for trash and recycling services. A rate increase for these services has not been passed onto customers since October. 2006. For more information, view the City Council presentation.
• The City of McKinney's water system is rated "superior" by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TECQ). View the report.
