New precision ag technology from MSU allows landowners the ability to visualize conservation planning scenarios across their production acreage. The program integrates wildlife conservation, producer profitability, and program eligibility allowing growers to target conservation opportunities at areas in fields where enrollment can provide economic benefits (tree lines, drainages, hot spots, etc.). This allows producers to maximize on-farm profitability and environmental services creating a multifunctional landscape that supports agriculture, people, and the environment.
Our goal is to increase the acreage and enhance quality of remnant grasslands within working agricultural lands across the Blackland Prairie region of northeast Mississippi. These areas provide income, ecosystem services, and benefit numerous wildlife such as the Northern bobwhite quail, wild turkey, and white-tailed deer. Please join us for a field day showcasing the economic and environmental benefits Precision Conservation may provide on your farm. The day will begin with a series of short talks, followed by lunch, and last a tour at Bryan Farms for a on the ground look at various conservation practices on a functioning row crop operation. Please RSVP by Monday, July 5, 2021. We look forward to seeing you there. CEU’s for Soil and Water Management, Nutrient Management, and Precision Ag offered.
