Employment Opportunities - NSERC Encouraging Vaccine Confidence in Canada
Application Deadline: July 2, 2021
The objective of this collaboration is to provide African Canadians with scientifically-sound information on the efficacy of vaccines in preventing the spread of infectious disease. 
Help us rename the Indigenous Health In Medicine Program
Contest Closes: July 4, 2021
In October 2016, IHIM (Indigenous Health In Medicine) was launched to increase representation of Indigenous students in Dalhousie Medicine. We want to re-name our program to reflect our commitment to support Indigenous students entering medicine.
Global Health Bursaries
Students in Dentistry, Health and Medicine are encouraged to apply for our global health bursaries to help support educational and professional development activities related to global health. 
Johnson Conference Diversity Bursary for Indigenous and African Nova Scotians
The goal of the program is to enable students to attend extracurricular programming such as conferences as part of their professional development (does not include courses).
Johnson Bursary for Entrance Requirements Support for Indigenous and African Nova Scotians
The goal of the program is to reduce or eliminate the financial burden associated with application requirements. Bursaries will be awarded as a reimbursement of cost.
PLANS continues to support African Nova Scotian students aspiring to a career in health
African Nova Scotian students studying Health Professions are still encouraged to connect with PLANS to discuss programs, support with applying, opportunities, or assistance connecting with professionals or services. You can email: sarah.upshaw@dal.ca to set up a call or video chat.
Supports for Indigenous students aspiring to a career in health
Indigenous students studying Health Professions are still encouraged to connect with IHIM to discuss programs, support with applying, opportunities, or assistance connecting with professionals or services. You can email: hannah.asprey@dal.ca to set up a call or video chat.
Global Health Blog Highlight
PLANS Celebration of Excellence 2021: Congratulations are in order for many students during the month of June. June 2nd marked the day of the PLANS Celebration of Excellence, a program closing ceremony. PLANS’ Celebration of Excellence was a graduation celebration for Black students in Medicine, Dentistry and Health. The celebration also recognized the high school students who participated in our Co-op placements this past academic year.
