COVID Update- July 1st

Stay at home orders remain in Greater Sydney and Wollongong

The following arrangements for Christian ministry of word and prayer will apply for St Michael's this Sunday, 4th July:
  1. Full Livestream service via Facebook on Sunday morning at 9:45am (produced by a small team of essentials). Sadly, NSW Health have now instructed churches that there is to be no singing permitted in a place of worship, not even by song leaders just to record a Livestream, so we will use videos kindly supplied by Emu Music and City Alight, for which we are grateful.
  2. Combined Evening Zoom Meeting at 6pm. This will again include songs from the Sandison family band (!) & a memory verse video, as well as Zoom breakout groups at the end to pray (but no one required to pray out loud!). Click to Join Zoom Meeting (Meeting ID: 826 8463 2411 | Passcode: 570786). We suggest parents may consider getting younger kids bathed/changed before the Zoom and/or feeding them during the sermon part of the Zoom.
We will put up a link via Facebook to the kids worksheet for children watching the 9:45 Livestream or joining the Evening Zoom.

Don’t forget to give someone a call this week to see how they are going.
2021- and Lockdown 2.0- Halflway!
Minister's Letter - Andrew Stevenson

I’m writing from a very quiet office, knowing the Cathedral will be just as quiet on Sunday. That makes me quite sad. Meeting weekly for church, youth group, or growth group is not just ‘what we do’; it’s who we are as God’s people.

And I’m sure we’re not only missing gathering together, but we’re probably feeling a bit lost, out of whack with routines, and perhaps our faith as well…

Last year during lockdown, I preached on one of my favourite passages in the Bible, Hebrews 10:19-25. It speaks about having Jesus as our advocate, so we can have confidence to come to God. Therefore we can draw near to him and also spur one another on towards love and good deeds. So we need to encourage one another… certainly as the day of the Lord approaches but also for lockdown 2.0, all the more as we are not physically together!
