CONSIDER THIS:  Accommodations for Your Child's Anxiety or Fear

In effort to ease your child's anxiety or fear, have you responded by drastically changing your own behavior or doing something "extra"? As mammals, we are hardwired to want to keep our children safe. But it is important to make sure we give our children opportunities to confront their anxiety and fears so they can learn and grow. 

You can support a child with anxiety or obsessive compulsive disorder using these two steps: 1) Accepting and validating their emotions, and 2) Expressing confidence in their ability to handle their difficult emotions.
