Framework for involving patients in patient safety - National Patient safety Team (June 29th)
The National Patient Safety team published a new ‘Framework for involving patients in patient safety’, which is a key part of the patient safety strategy.
The framework has been developed in partnership with patients and recognises the importance of involving patients, their families, carers and other lay people in improving the safety of NHS care, as well as how providers can empower patients to keep themselves safe.
You can find out more and read the full and summary versions of the framework here

Maternity Regional Dashboard - an operational view
A regional dashboard has been developed in response to an ask for an operational view of the maternity regions. 100 metrics have been compiled proposed by the regions and over half have now been included in this version of the dashboard. More metrics will be added in the near future. All data included at this stage are publicly available and there are no sharing restrictions.
The Regional Maternity Dashboard can be accessed here - if you are not a hub member please click this link and request access to the regional dashboard.
The tool enables people to select geography and further filter by category of data and/or metric. There is also a chart view which currently shows trends for data points with 95% confidence limits but this will be replaced with Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts as part of the iterative development. Training via Teams in the use of the tool will be offered once SPC has been incorporated.
