Attention to digital™ is Engage’s monthly newsletter brought to you by founder Alex (that’s me 👋). It contains all the latest news from the studio as well as my favourite links from around the web. I hope you enjoy it.
Hi <<First Name>>,
So how’s your plan for returning to the office looking? Completely nailed? Still exploring options? Or are you waiting to see what others do before making a final decision? After canvassing opinions from across the team, we’ve opted to go down the experimentation route. After all, experiments are fun whereas u-turns can be a little embarrassing, especially when you don’t have all the answers.
Experiment #1 (granted, we could probably have come up with a more creative name) will run for the next month and see everyone trying at least 1 day a week in the office and then the flexibility to plan the rest of their week as they see fit, alongside a little guidance around tasks best suited to home vs the office. At the end of the experiment we’ll regroup, see what worked well and perhaps what didn’t and use that information to plan the next experiment. Hopefully by the end of the next quarter we’ll have found a balanced, long-term approach and be a better business and employer for it.
So what else has been going on this month?

From the studio
Getting prepared for better hybrid working
When planning for more flexibility around how we work, we knew increased video calls would increase the need for more individual, private spaces. So now we’ve installed some new single person booths and our meeting rooms have got their capacity back. They’re part of a number of changes we’ll be implementing over the coming weeks to make sure the office continues to provide a fantastic working experience for the team - Watch the video
Welcoming Lucy and Chelsea to the team
This month we gave a warm, socially distanced, welcome to Chelsea and Lucy. Chelsea joins the delivery team and will be ensuring we continue to deliver projects in line with our Attention to digital™ pledge, whilst Lucy will be helping our clients rise up the SERP rankings in the SEO team.
I’m cycling 275km... in a day
As a keen cyclist I enjoy a long day in the saddle, but I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this one! In aid of the Leeds Children's Heart Surgery Fund five of us will be attempting to cycle from coast to coast, Morecambe to Bridlington, in a day. Lights, camera, action
For those of you lamenting the loss of the regular podcast slot, I’ve got a brand new section for you this issue which will hopefully prove a worthy successor. Each month we’ll be recording a number of short videos on a range of topics, from business and marketing, through to leadership and culture and you can watch the first batch below:
I’d love to know what you think of our first attempt in front of the camera, so just reply to this email with any feedback.
