Rita Kohli, Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Riverside, recently published a book in the Race and Education series with Harvard Education Press. Framed by Critical Race Theory, Teachers of Color: Resisting Racism and Reclaiming Education describes how structural racism serves as a continuous barrier against diversifying the teaching force and the wellbeing of teachers of Color. The book also explores tools teachers of Color employ to resist the current structures and reimagine education, additionally offering recommendations on how schools, districts and teacher education programs can better support educators who identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of Color.
