"Can I use Plone as an intranet?"
Plone’s built-in workflow options and user permissions make the CMS a great candidate for a company intranet. By setting content to use the "Intranet/Extranet Workflow" in "Site Setup > Content," editors have full control over what is available to site users. For example:
- internally published items are visible to anyone that can log in to the site;
- private items are only available to users that have set permission; and
- externally published content is available for any user to see, whether they are logged into the site or not.
