"Can I use Plone as an intranet?"

Plone’s built-in workflow options and user permissions make the CMS a great candidate for a company intranet. By setting content to use the "Intranet/Extranet Workflow" in "Site Setup > Content," editors have full control over what is available to site users. For example:

  • internally published items are visible to anyone that can log in to the site;
  • private items are only available to users that have set permission; and
  • externally published content is available for any user to see, whether they are logged into the site or not. 

Plus, with Plone’s "Users and Groups," editors have full control over what permissions each user has and what sections of the site they are allowed to see. Learn more by watching these training videos by Kim Nguyen, Six Feet Up VP of Engineering:
