It's been busy here with working, experimenting a little more with oil painting and also... creating some new offerings!

Inspired by the Intuitive Painting & Wellbeing workshops for women, and as a natural offshoot really, I've been creating a short 4-week course which will take place via Zoom on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm throughout July (7th, 14th, 21st and 28th).
It's been great researching the best way to present this and have discovered 'TicketLight', a platform which creates and sells the tickets. It's easy, straightforward and professional and all the terms and conditions apply and are set out clearly.

Val and Moss - Val reading her favourite poetry
It's wonderful to hear Val reading her favourite poetry. We met over a year ago when I began walking her beautiful Border Collie Moss each week, via The Cinnamon Trust.
We often have a cup of tea and chat too and Val has shared how much comfort she feels from reading poetry, especially by Patience Strong. She has a wonderful 1930s booklet of her poetry that belonged to her mother and this episode is dedicated to Val reading from this booklet.

'Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?'
A felting from a while ago ...I thought of this recently, and the poem which inspired it, with the June Supermoon.

The Cat and the Moon
by W. B. Yeats
The cat went here and there
And the moon spun round like a top,
And the nearest kin of the moon,
The creeping cat, looked up.
Black Minnaloushe stared at the moon,
For, wander and wail as he would,
The pure cold light in the sky
Troubled his animal blood.
Minnaloushe runs in the grass
Lifting his delicate feet.
Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?
When two close kindred meet,
What better than call a dance?
Maybe the moon may learn,
Tired of that courtly fashion,
A new dance turn.
Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
From moonlit place to place,
The sacred moon overhead
Has taken a new phase.
Does Minnaloushe know that his pupils
Will pass from change to change,
And that from round to crescent,
From crescent to round they range?
Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
Alone, important and wise,
And lifts to the changing moon
His changing eyes.

Minnaloushe appears regularly in my artwork and in recent needle-punch sketches too... I had a beloved black cat called Archy, just like Minnaloushe x
