WELCOME BACK TO THE LIBRARY!


Cook Public Library is open
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 am – 4 pm.  

The library will continue to offer lobby pick up on Mondays from 10 am – 4 pm.


Things to know before your visit:  
Visitors are asked to limit time in the building to 30 minutes or less
Hand sanitizer is available
Social distance guidelines are in place
Two public computers are available
Bathroom is open 

If you feel sick, please visit another day.

Services available during Open Hours:  Browsing, checkouts, computers, copies and faxes.

Services not available during Open Hours:  Meeting room, in-person programs, seating areas, newspapers, headphones, children’s toys, games and puzzles.

2021 Summer Reading Program

Reading Colors Your World


June 1 – July 30

 
 
Excitement and fun await those who participate in the Cook Public Library’s summer reading program.  This year’s theme is Reading Colors Your World and everyone is invited to read!
 
Preschool – Elementary
Kids will receive a Reading Colors Your World book log, activity book, stickers and book mark.

Turn in reading logs at the Cook Public Library by July 30 to receive a prize. 

Anyone can request a book log by calling the Cook Public Library, 218-666-2210 or emailing crystal.phillips@alslib.info.

 
Adult & Teen
Time for a BINGO Challenge!

Pick up the Summer Reading BINGO card at the Cook Public Library or

Earn a BINGO in any direction, turn in your card by July 30 at the Cook Public Library and receive a prize!

The Art of Tying Knots:

Macramé Take & Make Kits


Learn the basic three knots of macramé and create a trendy micro-macramé zipper pull!  This DIY project, created by Minnesota artist Jen Anfinson, can be used on jackets, backpacks, purses – anything with a zipper!  A great hands-on opportunity to create an artistic gift or even start a new hobby!  

This program is geared towards adults and kids ages 10 and up
(younger kids may need help from an adult).  

Stop by the library or call 218-666-2210 to reserve your kit.
Please note each location has a limited number of kits.

FRIENDS OF THE COOK PUBLIC LIBRARY RECEIVE TIMBER DAYS DONATION

Cook’s Annual Timber Days Committee donates a portion of their raffle ticket sales
to a local non-profit organization each year.  The Friends of the Cook Public Library was designated as the recipient in 2021.

Enjoy unlimited access to more than 1,000 award-winning arts and crafts video classes taught by recognized design experts and artists. There are creative projects for every occasion with downloadable patterns, templates, and recipes. The easy to navigate website features classes on topics in art and design, sewing, paperwork, holidays and parties, knitting and crochet, quilting, jewelry, and more! Users can
browse by skill difficulty levels, quick or multi-part classes, specialty techniques, or those video
tutorials best suited for children.

“We have found that do-it-yourself activities are extremely popular in the Arrowhead Library
System region, and we are happy to support the maker movement with this new free resource for
patrons,” said ALS Regional Librarian Mollie Stanford.
