Hello Everyone, Can you believe it’s a week until it’s the Summer Holiday’s? That last term seemed to zoom by didn’t it. I don't know about you, but we have decided not to go abroad this year, so they'll be lots of weekends away and days out in the UK instead. We've compiled a list of some of our favourite UK Family Days Out. So whether you are looking for a local day out, or something a little further a field you'll find it all here.  | This summer we are delighted to be working with the multi-award-winning children’s publisher Nosy Crow, to bring you our favourite children’s books. There is something for everyone! Nosy Crow make child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12. With this summer reading list, we’ve made sure that there is something for everyone. Some books that you can read together and some that your kids can read by themselves. We have also got a range of FREE activity sheets that you can download for the books. For each of the 10 books we’ve given you a brief description as well as a preview link so that you can view the first few pages yourself. We really hope you enjoy our recommendations- why don’t you send us a photo of your child enjoying the book or you could even a record a short video review for us and then we’ll share them with all our other Mumblers on our Instagram stories.  | Go down a rabbit hole and through the looking glass at RHS Harlow Carr this summer! Inspired by Alice’s spirit of curiosity and a host of quirky characters from Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, during their visit to RHS Harlow Carr, families can view the gardens through the eyes of Alice, encountering topsy-turvy installations along the way. Children will be invited to sneak through the rabbit hole, peek through the door in the tree, transform themselves into a Queen (or King) of Hearts. |

Follow the map and let your imagination run wild as you discover vibrant new artworks in the landscape. You’ll even be able to cross a bridge which has been missing for hundreds of years! You’ll be full of beans and out of puff in the huge adventure playground There’re things to wobble along, jump over and climb on in the natural play area. Ashville College is delighted to announce the opening of a new facility for two-year-olds in September 2021. | 'Little Acorns' is part of the new Ashville Acorns Pre-Prep, an exciting new environment for young children to play, learn and thrive. It is made up of Little Acorns (two to three-year-olds), Acorns (three to four-year-olds), and Reception (four to five-year-olds). Mrs Charlotte Cryer has been appointed as the new Head of Ashville Acorns Pre-Prep to relaunch the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision for Ashville's youngest pupils. Mrs Cryer has extensive EYFS teaching expertise, as well as knowledge and experience in a wide range of early years settings in leadership roles. This will extend and enhance the care and education already offered at Ashville. Ashville Acorns Pre-Prep is a hidden gem and with Mrs Cryer’s leadership and vision, it is ready to emerge and proudly show what it can offer your children.  | Master your favourite sport this Summer at United Academy of Sports’ Tennis academy. This will be for children aged 8-12 years, and held at Harrogate Ladies’ College. The tennis academy is open to players of all ability levels, our coaches are trained in the art of differentiation and can ensure that no matter what level an athlete is at, the activities provide an opportunity to engage and develop the fundamentals of the game. |

 | Feel better with Fit4LifeHarrogate Borough Council have an amazing team of health and fitness experts who can help you feel better through their Fit4Life weight management programme. Over 12 weeks they teach you how to move more, eat well and lose weight. It’s free, easy to join and everyone is welcome. Here’s the team explaining more. There's more information about joining and the eligibility criteria here, but you need to be aged 18 or over and have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or above (if you are from an ethnic minority or you have hypertension, diabetes, cardiac or respiratory problems, your BMI can be 25 or above). You'll also need to live, work or be registered with a GP in the Harrogate district and commit to all 12-weeks. The programme has helped adults of all ages reach their weight loss goals. Hear about Ash’s story. He took his doctor’s advice and signed up after 25 years of unsuccessful attempts at weight loss and being shocked into action by a picture drawn by one of his daughters. |
