NOT a MISSED Opportunity...
The Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics has its controversies and mixed feelings here in Japan. Due to the ongoing pandemic, a majority of Japanese wish to cancel it. But it will push through whether there will be spectators or not.
Regardless we will not miss out on a great opportunity that is inspired by the Paralympics. In Japan, those with disabilities face not only the challenges of working conditions, but also the social stigma of being a problem to the society. Dare To Overcome (DTO) Tokyo is a project to reach out to and champion those with disabilities in Japan. The two-day in-person & virtual event (Aug 22-23) offers "Create Tomorrow" seminars that will address topics such as self identity and empowerment, getting jobs and dealing with workplace issues, and self care and stress management.
