Green Erasmus - Fill in a survey

You may have heard of the ambitious Green Erasmus project – about the importance of sustainable internationalisation and to empower students and student organisations to be the agents of change, pushing for improvements on the topic of environmental sustainability.

Currently, we are conducting a survey on good practices of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the field of sustainable internationalisation. The analysis of the results will be used to complete research on student’s habits and a handbook for HEIs.

2021-22 Mellon/SAR Academic Freedom Workshop & Fellowships

Are you an early-career researcher working on academic freedom issues? Since the rigged Presidential elections of 9th August 2020, at least 480 students have been detained and 158 were expelled from their universities. At least 41 students are under criminal prosecution (with sentences up to 4 years of prison), 12 of whom are now under a collective trial, and many student activists are now living in exile in several European countries. Turn it Around! Flashcards for Education Futures

Soliciting art and written contributions from young people around the world, the flashcards will be developed to influence policymakers to include quality climate education within their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) ahead of the PreCOP26 conference in Milan and the COP26 conference in Glasgow.

Digital and physical copies will be available and will elevate youth voices within these important climate related conferences. Simultaneously, a policy report will be developed to compliment the UNESCO Future of Education initiative launch in November.

We are happy to introduce the Final Results Booklet as a part of the transnational campaign for the PAC (Previously Acquired Competences) recognition!

AEGEE-Europe, in partnership with Together, Moving Forward - TMF, organised an online survey from 22 February to 28 March 2021 to gather an overall picture of the accessibility of European Higher Education Institutions for TCN (third-country national) students. As a follow-up and to deeply assess individual experiences of TCNs regarding PAC recognition, AEGEE-Europe and TMF organised two focus groups on the 7th and 8th of May 2021.

European Parliament resolution on Belarus

The European Parliament, in its resolution on Belarus, quoted the data provided by ESU member the Belarusian Students' Association on student repression in the country, and called on the Member States and the Commission to offer scholarships to Belarusian students and scholars expelled from universities and imprisoned for their pro-democratic stance.

C20 Working Group on Citizenship and Education: recommendations

The Civil20 Working Group on Citizenship and Education, which ESU is part of, issued its recommendations. It focuses on: investing in education as the main lever to affect inequalities and restore equality of opportunity; close the education financing gap with a particular focus on investing resources to support countries in responding to and recovering from the crisis; adopt Lifelong learning to build a democratic culture: protection of common goods and human rights; promote Education 4.0: Global citizenship as the main transversal competence to be citizens of the future; increase transformative education at the service of sustainable development: care of planet and earth's inhabitants in the pandemic era; promote gender equality and women's and girls' empowerment in and through education. The Civil20 is a formal engagement group of the G20, open to any civil society organisations from any countries of the world.

Capacity building on Independent Student Journalism


The GSF, in collaboration with the Global Voices, is organising a two-day capacity building seminar for student representatives from the regional and national membership.

1. Participants will learn how to understand the fundamental elements of independent citizen journalism targeting a global audience across languages (via translation)

2, Apply journalistic styles of writing to human rights and solidarity reporting based on the standards applied and used by Global Voices

3. Further their understanding of the global-local nexus in writing

Join the Global Student Summit: Vaccine Justice through fairness, trust and responsibility.

An unfair and uneven distribution of vaccines globally may have the effect of exacerbating the immediate and long-term harms of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, the Global Student Forum is hosting a student summit on vaccine justice. This summit will reiterate demands to global leaders and governments for economic fairness and a just distribution of patent free vaccines 12th of July!
