Join Nakayoshi for our first volunteer event of 2021!

Nakayoshi is excited to announce our first volunteer event of the year!

What: Community cleanup of the historic Colma Japanese Cemetery
When: Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10AM
Where: Colma Japanese Cemetery, 1300 Hillside Blvd, Colma, CA 94104

Lunch will be provided. This event is hosted by the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC).

The Japanese cemetery is where many loved ones, including grandparents, great-grandparents, and even the first generation of Japanese immigrants to the U.S., the issei, are laid to rest. By caring for the cemetery, we honor the Japanese American community members who came before us, especially those who may no longer have family in the area.

The last cleanup was in 2018, so many of the graves have not been tended to in several years. Watch our video from the 2018 cleanup to see what a special event this is!

Sign up to volunteer by July 27. Hope to see you there!
