Read on for some more great experiences...

Christmas in itself is a magical experience, but Ukrainian Christmas takes it to the next level! The festive customs in Ukraine have remained unchanged for centuries. From ancient carols, to quaint traditions and folk tales. Locals make traditional dumplings “varenyky” and “borshch” beetroot soup in preparation for a traditional Christmas Eve meal, or “Sviata Vecherya”.
Christmas Eve in Ukraine is a colourful and fascinating event, rich in traditions and delicious dishes! The

One tradition is that you can't start eating the meal until the first star is seen in the sky! Once the star is spotted, the family comes together to eat the special meal. After the meal, people love to sing carols or 'Koliadky'. They can be sung around the table or you might go out caroling in the streets. The Ukrainian carol 'Shchedryk' is where the popular 'Carol of the Bells' came from!

Ukraine may not be top of your list when it comes to a skiing holiday destination – but it should be! Namely the biggest and best resort in Eastern Europe – Bukovel. It is not only the most popular ski resort in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains, but is also the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe, and in our opinion – the most beautiful! Think snowy mountain peaks, skiing trails and incredible views over the beautiful Carpathian Mountains...
Bukovel currently boasts 16 ski lifts with 60 km of tracks, of varying difficulties, where you can ski or snowboard to your hearts delight! The Bukovel Ski School also offers lessons for learners of all abilities. But the resort is not just for skiing! You can try all kinds of winter activities, from tobogganing, ziplining, sledding, or just hiking in the scenic snowy mountains. This contained resort is home to cosy cabins, spas, restaurants and bars, and even its own Christmas Markets, so you don’t have to go far to find something to do or a place to relax and enjoy the views!

Ukrainian New Year, or “Malanka” is more than a party with fireworks and champagne - it is a hypnotic festival of colour, culture and tradition – it’s a feast for all your senses!

This celebration is so deeply embedded in Ukrainian identity and culture, that no one is quite sure exactly where it came from or how old it is, but over time it has developed and evolved from a variation of a Pagan celebration, to a huge New Year celebration.
The main event of this celebration is a parade through the village of Krasnoilsk. The entire village turns out on New Years Eve, which falls on January 13th, to celebrate this festivity. The celebrations start at nightfall on the 13th and continue through the night into the day of the 14th – New Years Day. This experience will blow you away – the people and parade seem to have come from a parallel world in a pageant of brightly coloured costumes and bewitching performances.
