American Indian Cultural District
"The Village San Francisco" is an inter-tribal community coalition of Native organizations and groups that serve San Francisco’s Indigenous population. Together they are creating a physical, service, cultural and spiritual nexus for American Indians that will ensure the well-being of their people seven generations from now. The majority of Indian people live in cities, yet they remain an invisible community and share similar disparities of other communities of color.

Make a Legacy Gift to LATA

If you want our scholarships to continue in your or someone else’s name, please consider putting LATA in your legacy planning. Here are a few of suggestions.

Include LATA in your will:

  • “I give the Latin American Teachers Association-LATA, a California nonprofit group recognized as tax exempt under 501c3, Tax ID# 94-23977546, contact at PO Box 410206, San Francisco, CA 94141-1104, www.latasf.org, sflata@yahoo.com. ___ (here add an amount or percent of your “residuary estate”) to be used for scholarships in my name (or anonymous).”

Include LATA as a beneficiary of your Retirement:

  • Request a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator or go to your account on-line.

Include LATA in your Life Insurance policy:

  • Contact your policy administrator and add LATA as a beneficiary.

Create a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT):

  • You can donate property, stocks, or funds from the sale of your home to the CRT. You will be paying taxes only on the amount you use, but not on anything held in Trust or donated to a nonprofit, such as LATA. Use the info above to include LATA.

Matching Donation from Employer:

  • Check to see if you (or someone else you know) gets a matching donation from employer. Give them our nonprofit info. (We received an extra $2000 this year from a matching donation.)
