Covid! now has a firm grip on Thailand.
Bangkok is under a severe lock-down in a desperate attempt to control a Covid outbreak. Some in our churches near Bangkok have become sick. Immunizations are slowly going out, not as fast as the disease is spreading. Because of this, travel throughout the country has been drastically cut back. Our schools here in MaeTaeng schools opened one month late this year: in mid-June. Then by early July, the children here at MaeTaeng Children’s Home were sent back to their villages when the schools announced they would be closed until August.
Before the children returned home, we were able to have Youth Group a few times. The kids are all terrified of Covid. At the college level, Steve was all set to teach English to the CIT students. Similarly, they have only been able to have classes for about a month.
Today, the government announced that all gatherings are forbidden. We have watched as many businesses in Chiang Mai have closed. Many more are on the brink of closing. Our friends Yui and Tun, who are small business owners, are struggling to get by.

Home Assignment 2021
In two short weeks, we plan to return to the United States for our next Home Assignment. We are excited to see family and friends and report back to you, our supporting churches, about what God has been doing these last two years in Northern Thailand and throughout the southeast Asia field. Home Away From Home
We want to give a big shout-out to the Michigan District. They have opened up Indian Lake Missionary Lodge for us to stay at almost the entire time we are home. This is such a huge blessing! We cannot say thank you enough!
