Happy Tuesday!

Hope your week has been good so far! We are barreling through July and in the thick of the summer heat here. If you plan to visit make sure to plan some good water fun during your stay. It's the perfect time for relaxing in your resort pool each afternoon as you take a park break during the hottest part of the day. makes the summer heat so much better! Plus, now that park hours are being extended again,  you can spend time in the parks after dark without the intense sun blazing.

Let's get to this week's news!

This Week's News

Epcot Monorail is open: In another return to pre-closure status, the Epcot monorail line is now operating. It has remained closed since March of 2020 and will definitely help in giving guests another option to travel from the Ticket and Transportation Center at Magic Kingdom to Epcot, and from Epcot to Magic Kingdom as well. Rumor is that parking trams will be running again soon too, which will be really helpful as the heat levels rise this summer. I'll let you know when I hear word on those.

Dole Whip Day: Who knew there was an actual Dole Whip day but apparently it's July 18th. Check this article for a great rundown of all the places you can get Dole Whip at Disney World, as it's much more than most people realize.

Imagineering Moving to Florida: Disney announced that 2000 positions in Imagineering would be relocated to the Lake Nona area of Central Florida, which is near the Orlando airport. No word on what specific positions will be moving, but they did list Florida's "business-friendly climate" as being one of the motivating factors. Orlando Sentinal has a good article but it's behind a paywall, so here's one from the LA Times if you'd like more details. The move will be happening slowly over an 18 month period so I imagine we'll learn more details on this later.

Food & Wine Festival: The next fest is now underway at Epcot, with a much longer run this time, and starting in the summer instead of the fall. I'll be going this week to check it out but here's an overview.

Disney Plus Show: A new show will start on Disney plus this week that will go behind the scenes of popular Disney attractions. Sounds really interesting and I can't wait to check it out. Details here.

Florida Resident Ticket Offer: Florida locals can now get a four-day ticket that will make it just over 50 bucks a day and is good through Sept, 17th. Details here.

Park Hours Increased: Hours have been expanded at pretty much all parks so if you're planning a trip make sure you check the current hours for the days you'll be visiting here.
