“Guiding the Way to Inclusion” Conference

PCPR is offering 2 PCPR members the ability to attend NACAC’s Guiding the Way to Inclusion Conference (July 27 - 29, online).

NACAC’s Guiding the Way to Inclusion (GWI) conference is aimed at secondary, postsecondary, and CBO college admission professionals committed to championing the needs of diverse students within the college admission process. The annual gathering offers educational sessions regarding multicultural recruitment and campus inclusion while also providing a shared space for like-minded professionals to reflect on current issues and share best practices related to equity in higher education. Small group sessions, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities provide avenues for both personal and professional growth. The cost of the conference to non-NACAC members is $200.00. PCPR will cover the cost.

You must have a current PCPR (individual or institutional) membership or sign for one upon selection. The supported attendees will be expected to provide PCPR turnaround training and/or programmatic guidance upon attending the conference. If you’re interested contact us at contact@collegepreproundtable.org. Put “NACAC GWI” in the subject line.

Persistence and Retention Report

The National Student Clearinghouse’s Persistence and Retention report series examines first-year persistence and retention rates for beginning postsecondary students. Persistence rate is measured by the percentage of students who return to college at any institution for their second year, while retention rate represents the percentage of students who return to the same institution. Students attaining a credential in their first year are accounted for in persistence and retention rates. The report is designed to help institutions understand trends and patterns in this important early success indicator, and identify disparities by institutional type, state, degree level, starting enrollment intensity, major field, and student demographic characteristics such as age, gender, and race and ethnicity.

NACAC surveyed its membership in May 2021 to find out what decisions colleges and universities have made regarding the upcoming college application season.

More than 450 institutions responded to questions about plans for Fall 2021 in-person classes, vaccination requirements, and admission criteria for the class of 2022, including testing requirements.
