Dear BHS PTO family,

We hope this finds you enjoying a restful and healthy summer! Even as your PTO leaders are relaxing, we are planning for the coming year, tying up the loose ends of last year’s grant awards (more than $30,000, thanks to you!), planning for September’s welcome events for both the freshman and sophomore classes, and working with educators and staff as they excitedly prepare to occupy the newly-renovated areas of the building that will be complete in the fall, as well as those that will be complete later in the winter.

As we mentioned in our end-of-year communications last month, we are hoping to augment our grantmaking from the spring with the third annual Amazon Wishlist project. BHS educators have submitted links to items that they anticipate needing in their classrooms, offices, or work areas in the coming year, and we have compiled them HERE, in an Amazon Wishlist. Any items that are purchased will be shipped directly to BHS and distributed to the educators who requested them. Educators have requested items such as books to stock up a classroom library, craft supplies or fidget toys to stock up a guidance office, small furniture items to outfit a newly-renovated classroom space, and much more. It’s a great opportunity to contribute in-kind to the efforts of our educators and set them up for success in the coming year. Items range in cost from under $15 to around $100, and multiple copies of some items have been requested - please browse the list and pick out something that feels comfortable and meaningful to you! Last summer as a community we were able to purchase almost 100% of the items requested, totaling nearly $10,000 in value. Amazing!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Click  here to access the list. You may sign into your own Amazon account after clicking.
  2. Select as many items as you’d like to contribute. Some listings indicate that multiple units have been requested, and a graphic at the bottom will show how many of the number requested remain to be purchased.
  3. When you’re checking out, select the “BHS PTO Gift Registry Address” from the list of shipping addresses. This will take your items directly to BHS, where they’ll be distributed to the educators who requested them.
The Amazon Wishlist is an easy and quick way to support our hard-working, dedicated educators with exactly what they need. We’ll keep the list up until mid-August. We thank you so much in advance for your help with this project!

Once again, we wish you a restorative summer. We’re looking forward to a year full of reconnecting and supporting our students, educators, and families in 2021-22!

All our best wishes,

Jamie, Jennie, & Carin
