Holy Father's Prayer Intention for the Month of July

We pray that, in social, economic, and political situations of conflict, we may be courageous and passionate architects of dialogue and friendship.

Hello everyone!
This past week was my first official week in the office at Saint Mary School, and I couldn't be more thrilled to begin! Returning 'home' has been such a gift, and I cannot wait to see how our Lord works in our lives and the lives of our students during this academic year.
To all of our Saint Mary School families: A letter was sent via email this past week. This letter contains information about events in August, school supplies, our new student information system, and much more! If you did not receive the letter, please contact our school office so that we can verify your email address on file.
To any family who is interested in attending Saint Mary School: We are still accepting applications for enrollment, so it is not too late to register! If you are interested in registering and/or taking a tour of our school, please call the school office for more information (740-654-1632).
Our school office hours are below:
- Summer Hours (now through August 13th)
- Tuesday through Thursday: 9:00am-2:00pm
- School-Year Hours (beginning August 18th)
- Monday through Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm
We hope and pray that you and your families continue to have a blessed summer, and we can't wait to see you soon!
God bless,
Mrs. Elrich
Principal, Saint Mary School

FOR R.C.I.A. REFRESHMENTS
|
|
As we emerge from the Pandemic, we will resume offering hospitality to the men and women who will enter the R.C.I.A. Process and attend sessions most every Monday from late August until late May. We are in need of volunteers to serve on a scheduled rotation to provide refreshments for these Monday evening sessions.

Invite Someone to Come and Learn about Catholicism!
|
|
Do you know a Christian who has fallen away from their religious community and Sunday worship? Consider extending them an invitation to re-engage their relationship with the Lord in the Church by learning about the catholic faith and her worship of God through the RCIA Process. Interested persons should contact Brian McCauley this summer before RCIA sessions begin in late August.

FALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION
|
|
P.S.R. Registration Information went out to all recently active parish families via email earlier this week. Our PSR program assists parents with providing religious education for children in K, 1st - 8th grades, and high school. Typically those young Catholics of our parish who attend public schools attend our PSR Program. Information, Registration, and Medial Forms can be found on the PSR page of the parish website. We kindly ask for registration and tuition payments to be returned to the parish office by Sunday, 8 August. Questions can be directed to Brian McCauley.

ATTENTION FAMILIES OF 2 nd or 8 th GRADE CHILDREN
IMPORTANT SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION CALENDARS
The Sacramental Preparation Calendars for the coming spiritual year have been posted on our parish website. If this is a sacramental year for your child, please add these important dates to your family calendar. It is customary at our parish for children in second grade to prepare to begin celebrating the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion and those in the eighth grade to prepare for Confirmation. For a child to prepare for sacraments the family must be registered in our parish and the child must be currently in a religious education program and have attended a religious education program the prior year (St. Mary School, St. Mary PSR, or using a homeschool religious education program). If, for whatever reason, your child is out of sequence, please contact Brian McCauley by August so an appropriate and timely plan can be created for your child.

Support and Volunteer at our local St. Vincent de Paul
|
|
Our local St. Vincent De Paul conference provides an avenue for all parishioners to perform the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy.
We recall those works as feed the poor, give drink to the thirsty, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, bury the dead, and give alms to the poor.
Some examples of our responses to those include our “We Care” program that provides over 100 monthly boxes of food & drink to the needy of our community.
We provide support to both Lutheran Social Services' homeless shelter and Foundation Dinners.
Our nursing home ministry and our prison outreach are in need of rebooting after a necessary shutdown over the prior 15 months.
Our St. Vincent conference regularly contributes meaningful amounts for burials throughout the Diocese via “Twinning" with other St. Vincent conferences.
We provide direct “client aid” to those that lack decent food, shelter, or transportation and by supplying monthly grants to local charities and programs that address caring for the poor.
Our resources and blessings include:
- Our Donors who provide us with monetary support via our 5th Sunday Collections and of course; their donations of high-quality clothes and furniture to our thrift store at 424 Locust Street.
- Our Members, a dedicated group of women and men that help steer our conference and carry out the ministries that we provide.
- Our Volunteers, who provide the hours of dedicated service that keep our programs running smoothly.
- Our Employees, who execute the complexities of running our thrift store with empathy and caring.
We always welcome volunteers and invite all to inquiry about ways that you can help us heed God’s call to perform the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy.
