Join us for Hot Topics in Employment Law & Unemployment Insurance FAQs as we hear from legal expert Laura Pryor Johnson with Allen & Gooch. She will cover issues like:
  • employee leave and telework/remote work,
  • onboarding challenges with the COVID-19 vaccine and what constitutes a medical inquiry,
  • related handbook requirements,
  • discrimination issues related to gender identity and sexual orientation
Also in attendance will be Stephen Harris, an Employer Outreach Liaison in the Office of UI Administration with the Louisiana Workforce Commission. Unemployment Insurance questions have been on the rise since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and Mr. Harris will answer the most frequently asked ones.

Sell your food/craft products at the Gueydan Summer Festival with no fee! Gueydan's latest festival is designed to bring the people of Gueydan and Vermilion Parish together. Held on the City Hall grounds, this event will host live music, vendors, food, and fun day for the whole family. To register your space contact Gueydan Town Hall at (337) 536-9415.

United Way of Acadiana is hosting its annual school supply drive, Stuff the Bus, and will be collecting supplies for Vermilion now through August 6. If you'd like to participate, you can host your own internal drive or be a public drop off point (you will receive collection boxes).
