Dear Poets and Writers of the Living Room Craft Talks,

I hope this finds you reading and writing! I’ll soon be announcing the next series (4th!) of Living Room Craft Talks, which will begin at the end of October. In the meantime, if you missed any of the previous series, Jen has now made them all available to watch. Below is a brief description about what’s in each series and there’s more detailed information on my website at ellenbass.com.

Since you’ve already attended The Third Series, if you want 90 more days of access to the talks and materials and the opportunity to download the talks, I'm still offering you the chance to purchase the Downloadable Edition for only $100. You must use the link below to accept this offer (you won't find it on the website). The $100 offer expires by August 30, 2021.

For the other two series, standard access for three months is $300 and the downloadable format--which gives you access to the website for 90 days AND the opportunity to download the talks from the website so you may watch them after access to the website ends--is $400.

As always, scholarships are available for anyone for whom the fee is a hardship. See the website on how to apply.

Warmly,
Ellen

with Ellen Bass
An Online Self-Guided Series

This is the series that started it all! The First Series covers 6 essential topics: The Art of Metaphor, Detail and Description, Creating Tension through Multiple Pressures, Controlled Chaos, Syntax, and Discovery. This foundational series provides in-depth explorations into some of the fundamental ideas and practical applications to consider whenever you begin to write a poem.

The Art of Revision

with Ellen Bass
An Online Self-Guided Series

Features guest appearances by Jericho Brown, Toi Derricotte, Rick Barot, and Frank X. Gaspar.

During The Art of Revision, you’ll be studying the process of contemporary poets who have generously agreed to share their drafts. Because the process of revision is organic and can’t be separated neatly into topics, each week emphasizes several aspects of revision. Ellen will talk about some elements in an introductory way in one week and then in more depth another week. And because she responds to questions, sometimes the talks will circle back to discuss a poem or strategy that was presented in a previous week. That said, by the end of the series you’ll have had the opportunity to learn about most of the essentials.
