Hello <<First Name>>

How are you?

Crikey! We're halfway into July already and we're off on holiday from Friday. Yesterday was actually the last day for any orders - oops! Sorry! I've decided not to do a blog this month, as have just had too much going on. 🤯

Do you get involved in "Plastic Free July"? I had been wondering what I could stop using this year - we've made some great changes over the last few years in our family, though it has been harder to change the family view point, rather than my own. Most of my 'getting rid of single use plastic' has been my own things (such as reusable Stainless Steel razor, shampoo bars and soap) or things I'm in charge of like the reusable shopping and produce bags. One thing I've not yet managed is BYO takeaway containers. 😬

However, this year, I was wondering what to do - when I realised that I was doing something pretty big already! I had already decided to no longer use my gift boxes with the  PVC lids - unless items being displayed in shops, or it was specifically asked for (this has happened).

Did you get to read my blog post a couple of months ago about it? It was all about 'sustainable packaging' and the changes Curlicue NZ was going through. Read more here.

I also sent a message to Plastic Free July Aotearoa - asking them what they thought about my reusing bubblewrap, rather than recycling it in soft plastics and purchasing something more eco-friendly. They agreed with me and suggested I definitely use what I've got first. Which is what I will continue to do - and I add a little label to each package explaining it. 😁
Additionally, my blog post last month was about what it really means to support small business in New Zealand... and why I needed to increase my prices.
I started to increase them on 1st July, but as I currently have four different web shops, it's taking me some time to get through them all! 🤦‍♀️ So, currently they're a bit all over the place - sorry about that! You can take advantage of it though, and still get some items before they go up! 🤷‍♀️

However, I have managed to put a few more items into my clearance section. These are all items that have already been made (for various reasons), that I have decided to discontinue. So, some of them I only have one, others - a few. Get in quick to get them before they're gone forever!

Also, just a reminder that we will be saying goodbye to the following:
There are very limited numbers of the diamond and oval pearls left - and I have now updated stock levels on the website, so once they're gone - they're gone!
Refurbishment Update:
If you've been keeping up with me on social media, you'll have seen that we're refurbishing our downstairs multi-use room - which also happens to house my jewellery bench - from the start of August. This means I have to completely clear it out! 😱 Which is a HUGE job. I have slowly been getting rid of furniture, and the last to sort will be my jewellery desk.
The room will be re-painted, and re-floored - with some wooden laminate + cat-friendly carpet. I'm super excited about it, and will be getting a new jewellery desk, moving my office downstairs, and getting other new furniture! We'll still keep the rowing machine and ironing/ laundry stuff down here too. Here's a few pictures of it currently.... I'll do an update in August!
During this time, my 'making jewellery' area will have to be moved - most likely to the kitchen table! 😬
Monthly Cat Photo:
Here's Tinkerbell being playful with some sellotape, while I work. 😺
