"Building capacity to study Culex spp. antiviral defenses"

Dr. Claudia Rückert's main research interest is virus-vector interactions. She is establishing a research program focusing on mosquito antiviral responses with the aim of identifying targets for arbovirus transmission control. Further projects focus on mosquito biology, improving methodology to study Culex mosquitoes, and molecular biology of viruses that are transmitted by arthropod vectors. The Rückert Lab is also involved in a collaborative NSF-EPSCoR project to define tick and tick-borne disease distribution in the western United States [Rückert Lab].
