Preschool "play hill" getting finished!

Principal's Update

Good Morning everyone!

The school is just about completed with touch ups being done here and there along with cleaning. Landscapers are working hard at planting trees and shrubs along with laying sod on our field. Deliveries are coming daily and we are working hard to get all the supplies into the building and classrooms. It won't be long before school starts!

I would like to thank all the parents who have stepped up and participated in our PTO start up! I sincerely appreciate Tasia for undertaking this task, assisting me, and volunteering to be the PTO president. I am very excited to work with this great team of parent volunteers. If you know any of the parents, please thank them for their time and efforts in supporting our students at Highlands Elementary.

A few updates:

Last chance to purchase school spirit wear. The deadline is July 25th and deliveries should get to the school the week of August 9th. Proceeds from this sale will go into our student activity account for the start of the 21.22 school year. We hope to have them available to pick up on our supply drop night on August 16th.

Preschool parents can drop off the $60 deposit money the week of July 26th between the hours of 8:30 and 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday. We can only accept cash or checks.

Office Notes...

We have a phone number!!! You can reach the office at 303-702-8040. Currently we are in the office sporadically until August 2nd when we will be in regularly from 8:00-4:00. Until then, please leave a message if you need to contact us. You can always email Michele Keener at keener_michele@svvsd.org and she will get back to you as soon as possible.

KINDER UPDATE

Monday, August 16th Kindergarten Testing begins: 3 students will come in every 20 min starting at 9am and ending around 2pm ~ KINDER SIGN UP FORM TO BE SENT OUT THE WEEK OF JULY 26th.
Monday, August 16 School Supply Drop Night 4-5pm
Tuesday, August 17th, Kindergarten Meet and Greet. Students will come from 9-10:30 on the first day of school to do some fun activities.
Tuesday, August 17 11:00-2:00 Kindergarten testing
Thursday, August 19 1st day of school for Kindergarten

Spirit Wear Fundraiser
LAST CHANCE - DEADLINE JULY 25th

We are excited to offer this fundraiser for Highlands Elementary. Start the year with our spirit wear! Proceeds from this sale will go into Highlands student activity fund for 21-22 school year.

Preschool Information

Updated information!

Our preschool teachers will be in contact with families closer to August to set up orientation schedules. Please save these dates for your students to attend.

Our preschool hours are:

Morning Preschool | 8:50 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.
Afternoon Preschool | 12:50 p.m. – 3:20 p.m

Preschool parents can drop off the $60 deposit money the week of July 26th between the hours of 8:30 and 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday. We can only accept cash or checks. Please contact the office if you are away from the area during this time. We have an overwhelming number of parents on the waitlist so please let us know as soon as you can if your child will not be able to attend preschool.

The Health Appraisal forms and tuition contracts will also need to be turned in before a child can start preschool. They can be emailed to Michele Keener at any time (keener_michele@svvsd.org).
