Happy Crafting Season
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are keeping warm on these cold winter days we are having. Great weather to stitch, knit, quilt, embroider, crochet, etc no need to feel guilty about not being outside. I need to tell you about some beautiful new fabrics we have on offer, plus a new kit by Sue Spargo - Swag Bag - that Caron made the sample for.
Some classes on offer as well and groups we have for people to meet up and enjoy each others company and craft without the distractions of things that need doing at home! Remember to put the Knit Clinic Dates on your calendar for the rest of the year, this is such a great event not to be missed if you are a knitter.
Also we have another Sock Knitting Class with Jean coming up soon so don't overlook this.
We have slotted in a Little Girls Smock Dress or Top Dressmaking Class in as well, if you are wanting to have a go at dressmaking. A great little project to start on.
Don't forget about our Monday Sew and Chat classes and our Tuesday Busy Bee Classes and also our Hand Stitching Get Togethers on every other Wednesday and our Catch Up Chics on the first Saturday of the Month. . It is World Embroidery Day on Friday 30th July and we are having an open day for anyone to bring along their embroidery to sit, stitch and chat. Come along, celebrate World Embroidery Day with us and see what we are about - it's free and will be loads of fun.
The Hibiscus Coast Quilters are having their Quilt Show on 21st and 22nd August - make sure you put this on your calendar and go and check out the work that these very talented quilters do.

Thursday 29th July and Friday 6th August 2021 10.00 – 1.00 both days. Jean will teach you how to make socks from the toe up so you can try them on as you knit to get the perfect fit and you will also learn how to do socks using the Magic Loop method. It is such a useful skill to learn and they make wonderful gifts. The handmade socks last so much longer than the bought variety and there are such a lovely variety of sock yarns to make them in. The only stipulation with this class is you must buy your yarn here before class.

Come along and learn all about your sewing machine - you will use it to its potential when you join us in making this quilt. You will learn about all the different feet and other accessories for your machine.
First class starts on Thursday 12th August 2021 9.30 - 1.00 and this class will meet each month for 12 months, with some homework to do in between classes.
You must buy all your fabric requirements for the class from The Apple Basket and can be made in any colours you prefer.
Pattern is included in the class fee.

Knit Clinic with Corrina
Wednesday 18th August and Wednesday 15th September 2021 9.30 - 12.30
In over your head on a Knitting project? Or just need some help getting started? Whatever the obstacle and whatever your skill level, bring in your project or choose a new project (who doesn’t want to start a new project anyway!!) and enjoy the assistance of a teacher and the pleasure of knitting companions! Corrina is a very experienced knitter so she will have lots of tips, secrets, techniques etc to share with you. Morning tea will be provided along with tea, coffee, herb tea etc.

Homegrown uses a selection of Sue's favourite stitches and threads which she encourages you to try, as they add texture and depth to your blocks, what better way to spend your time while cooped up at home. .
The cost for it will be $75.00 per month for 10 months + postage. This is will include all wool fabrics, cottons fabrics for blocks borders and binding + ric racs and ribbons. Threads are not included but I will do a kit for the threads if you want one. You will need to purchase your book separately. We will have these in stock if you need it at $59.90.

This is another lovely quilt by Sue Spargo that we are doing as a block of the month at the moment. This is available now and is a delight to work on. Sue uses all her stitches in her Creative Stitching book and her lovely perle # 8 perle #5 and perle #3 threads. It is a great way to sharpen up on your embroidery.
This block of the month runs for 11 months and cost $75.00 per month includes all wool fabrics, cotton fabrics, rick racks and ribbons but not your threads.

This block of the month uses a mixture of 100% wool felt and cotton fabrics and has a mixture of hand applique, embroidery and machine piecing so a bit of everything in the one quilt.
Cost is $66.00 + postage per month for 8 months.
