"Jovinge, Torsten (1898-1936), Swedish painter, influenced by the purism of Le Corbusier and Ozenfant. He developed the geometric forms of this movement in a series of architectural motifs from Stockholm, and was of great importance to Swedish purism. Jovinge's painting of the 1920s and 1930s has been called "the high wisdom of functionalism". His colour scale in his paintings of the new Stockholm is high and bright, his images full of air, light and perspective." (translated)
