Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina is helping move the Fonta Flora State Trail forward by purchasing needed property and holding trail easements. McDowell Loves Trails

The McDowell Trails Committee meets every two months to talk about the many greenway/trails initiatives underway and to continue planning future projects. Managers, Council Members, Parks and Rec, Planning, Trails Groups are all in attendance.

Great Trails State Coalition

New Trail Section

Swannanoa Greenway Segment One - Asheville is at 60% of design work and hopes to have the design and acquisitions done by November. Construction will follow with a one year finish date. We learned about this section in our F3ST-Asheville Strategic Planning Meeting.
