Bishop Andrew leads on church buildings
Bishop Andrew has been appointed as lead bishop for church and cathedral buildings. He shares the role with the Bishop of Bristol, Viv Faull. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York announced the appointment of the two new lead bishops yesterday, 13th July. Read more...

Summer Activity Bags - from a Foodbank?
Poole Foodbank is putting together activity bags for children to use during the school holidays, with the help of local churches and others. The team seeks donations of new, inexpensive items to promote outdoor play, such as Frisbees, juggling balls, footballs, pedometers or similar. Able to help, or interested? 2020 Parish Finance Returns
Thank you to those who have already submitted their Parish Finance returns for 2020 - we have received 37%, 222 of 603 churches. The deadline has been extended to 31st July 2021. Returns can be completed online, or there is a printable copy here. Paper returns should be sent to Parish Support, Diocesan Office, Church House, Crane Street, Salisbury, SP1 2QB.

The CCSA, a voluntary non-profit organisation, works with cathedrals and churches to help and support retail shop managers in their role in raising funds towards mission and ministry. There are regional training events, an annual conference, and membership benefits. Read more...

Grateful Thanks
Bishop Karen thanks the Revd Suzanne Pattle and the Revd Belinda Marflitt for their ministry as they step down as Assistant Rural Deans in Wimborne and Milton and Blandford respectively, saying, "This is an often unseen role and their hard work, commitment and participation has been greatly appreciated locally by their deanery and by the Diocese, particularly in this last difficult year of Covid. We have been grateful for their ministry."

As South Sudan reaches its tenth year of independence and heartfelt thanks for support is expressed, the latest Sudans Bulletin is here, the 2021 Sudans Day poster (in October) is here, and the booking form is here. The Medical Link Garden Party is on Sunday 5th September, and there is a Soiree at Cranborne Manor on Wednesday 8th September.
Curate’s Crazy Cycling Commences
This Thursday (15th July), at 5.00am, the Curate of St James’ Church Devizes, Richard Saint, will start his challenge of ascending 10,000 metres on his bike using the online cycling platform Zwift, to raise awareness of modern slavery and raise funds for Hope for Justice. 1 Life, 1 Voice
Diocesan Education staff, Mothers' Union and others are collaborating on a project known as '#1Life1Voice', raising awareness on the various forms of modern slavery, with a campaign to follow in October this year which is being noted at national level. Read more...

Banquets and Gardens
We've all struggled during the pandemic, facing common enemies such as illness, grief, anxiety, isolation, frustration, and perhaps financial hardship. Bible Society – working with Christians Against Poverty and Welcome Churches – is encouraging churches and individuals to host banquets in the presence of these 'enemies', and to find peaceful inspiration in the 'Psalm 23 Garden'.

Young Adult Conversation
Phil Knox at the Evangelical Alliance has been working on a great resource to help church leaders look at how they reach, engage and disciple young adults, called '7 conversations', based around the rooms of a house.
MenUnited in Prayer
The July newsletter from praying Wiltshire men has been released, with resources from Welsh retreat centre Ffald-y-Brenin, a programme for the rest of the year, and looking ahead to a Men's Breakfast in September with Justyn Rees Larcombe.

Learn apologetics from experts
The Montgomery Trust provides nationally-renowned lecturers in apologetics to speak at events free of charge. The trust has funding to cover the lecturer’s fee and reasonable expenses.
