Styrofoam Recycling
Do the supplies you order on U Market ever come with styrofoam? If so, good news. The Twin Cities campus can now recycle it!!
To keep styrofoam out of the trash, mark large styrofoam boxes “recycling” and place them next to a waste station. If the styrofoam is smaller, just place it in the paper recycling bin and it will be sorted out at the recycling facility.
Unfortunately, styrofoam food containers (like to-go boxes and cups) are not recyclable. Twin Cities departments should continue using reusable or compostable food serviceware.
If your department is currently sending your styrofoam to U Market Services, please continue to do so.
To be on the safe side, the 2021 Supplier Showcase will be postponed again this year.
We greatly look forward to holding the event again in 2022 and hope to see you there!
