Wednesday Afternoons: Free Enrichment Program
As we wrote about in messages on May 4 and May 5, students will be dismissed early each Wednesday—at 12:30 p.m. for lower school and 12:45 p.m. for middle school—and teachers will have an afternoon of professional development. The Office of the State Superintendent of Education has approved this schedule.
We’re offering a program of enrichment activities to all students on Wednesday afternoons—at no cost to families. The program will run from dismissal until 3:30 p.m.
Here’s a sample of the schedule we intend to offer on Wednesday afternoons:
- 1:00 p.m. Homework or centers (for preschoolers)
- 1:30 p.m. Choice time (blocks, board games, puzzles, art activities)
- 2:00 p.m. ST Math
- 2:30 p.m. Recess outdoors or indoor movement break
- 3:00 p.m. Read-aloud
- 3:30 p.m. Dismissal or transition to our paid after-school program
Help us to get ready by answering a few questions about whether you plan to participate in this enrichment program or our other after-school activities.
In August, we’ll share sign-up information for the Wednesday enrichment program, as well as for our paid program of after-school activities.
If you have questions about the 2021–22 schedule, please email Nayamka Long.
