Team Canada 50/50 Lottery

The goal of the Team Canada 50/50 Lottery is to enhance the development of provincial level athletes, coaches, and technical leaders in Olympic & Paralympic sport disciplines that are eligible to participate in the Canada Summer & Winter Games. This extensive funding will be in place to support Alberta's Provincial Sport Organizations in key performance areas within their programs including Daily Training Environments, Camps & Competitions support, Coaching and Technical Leadership, Sport Science & Sport Medicine, and Organizational support.


Festivals & Events COVID-19 Recovery Grant

The City of Edmonton has created a grant program for festivals and events to encourage their return by offsetting additional costs as a result of COVID-19. Eligible events may include organized runs, walks and other sporting events, active recreation and active living events, sport festivals, public demonstrations and try-it events.


Renewed Jumpstart Sport Relief Funding

The Sport Relief Fund will continue to provide much needed financial support to sport organizations to help build back sport and play through 2021-22. Intake 3 applications close August 1 at 9:59pm MT with decisions issued the week of August 29. For Programming Support, programs may start between September 1 and December 31, 2021. Please contact Jumpstart to confirm your eligibility before applying for a grant. Most National Sport Organizations are qualified donees which may enable your eligibility.


Volunteer Screening Development Grant

Supporting the development of effective screening practices and processes, the grant provides up to $3,000 to support nonprofit organizations facing resource and capacity challenges in the area of volunteer screening. Deadline to apply is July 31.

Quality Sport Videos

Sport for Life has produced eleven short videos covering various aspects of the meaning of quality sport for athletes, coaches, parents, administrators and volunteers.


Sport, physical activity, and active recreation for all

Sport legacies: hosting mega, major and signature sport events can bring many positive benefits to the community. Our Recommendation #5: That the Universiade ’83 Foundation grant priorities be reviewed and updated to include projects that build participation of socially and economically marginalized Edmontonians in sport, physical activity, and active recreation, and when sufficient funds exist, increase the frequency of distribution of grants.
