CMG Pharmacy Now Offering J&J Vaccine
Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, the Canandaigua Medical Group (CMG) Pharmacy is now administering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, which some find to be a convenient option because it only involves only one dose.
The vaccine is available to anyone ages 18 and up, whether a patient of Thompson Health or not.
The pharmacy is located at 335 Parrish St. in Canandaigua. Those who would like to stop by for the vaccine are asked to call ahead first (585-602-0300) so the pharmacists can plan and therefore eliminate any potential waste (each vial has five to six doses, and is good for five hours after first puncture).

Thompson Again Awarded Perinatal Care Certification
The Birthing Center at UR Medicine Thompson Hospital has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Perinatal Care Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
This advanced certification was first acquired by Thompson in 2016, with the first re-certification in 2018. As one of only 60 organizations in the United States to have achieved this certification, the hospital underwent a rigorous, on-site review in June.
There were 692 babies born at Thompson in 2020.
For more information on the Birthing Center’s advanced certification and other distinctions held by Thompson Hospital, as well as information about how they are attained, visit The Joint Commission website.
