Dear Partner
We have been closely watching the evolving COVID-19 situation in Australia, and the particularly worrying consequences of the spread of the Delta variant. Wishing to keep our people and our partners safe, and recognising that state borders are unlikely to return to normal over the next few weeks, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the AWP Partners Workshop for this year.
We realise this will come as a disappointment to you, as it does to all of us here at AWP, especially after the earlier decision to postpone the event from February. Because parts of the intended Partners Workshop program are already well-prepared, we will proceed in the next few weeks to move some parts of it to an online delivery format so you won't miss out on the latest at AWP and the policy and themes we work to support. We also plan to organise informal online networking events for those interested in meeting other partners and the AWP team (a clear message from our recent partners' feedback survey).
We recognise the particular value to partners of the face-to-face networking and learning opportunities the Partners Workshop offers, which is why we were trying so hard to achieve an in-person event this year. We will commence planning for the next Partners Workshop to occur when we can reliably host a face-to-face event, and at this stage, we are looking at dates in April 2022.
Thanks for your patience – again, we are extremely disappointed but everyone's health and safety is our highest priority. We will communicate more about our online program in the coming weeks and hope many of you will be able to join us there. Until we (can) meet again!
