IN MEMORIAM

Natasha Luzhkova
It is with great sadness that the international trails community hears of Natasha Luzhkova’s passing. Her contributions to the the global trails movement and in particular to the World Trails Network, as a team member on the Next Generation Trail Leaders Expedition, and as Co-Chair of the Trails & Sustainability International Task Team, were significant.

Natasha helped shape a global manifesto for trails, and loved the idea that trails are sexy. Through her extensive travels she became an unofficial international ambassador for the Lake Baikal region and Russia in general. She was always a fierce advocate for trails and good science, a champion for nature who also loved a great time.

Her enthusiasm was contagious and fun. A beautiful human being, humble and considerate with an immense sense of humour. She will be missed immensely by many colleagues across the globe. She leaves us all far too soon.

On behalf of our global trails family we wish her loved ones peace and condolences in this trying time. Peace be with you Natasha as you journey the great trails in the far unknown. Remain always in the hearts of those you touched and who love you in return.
