BIOP 2021 Career Week Recordings
What a week it was! We heard from a diverse group of panelist who shared tips, tricks and insights on DOMINATING your career in I/O Psychology. See a brief recap below:

On Monday, Leroy Simpson, Psy.D and Donnie L. Bedney III kicked off the week with a dynamic dialogue on networking, building social capital and leveraging professional relationships. There were some invaluable gems provided during this session on how to define networking, the keys to effective relationship building, and how to value yourself in professional relationships!

On Tuesday Britni Eisenmann, MAIO, founder of the I/O Career Strategy Community, introduced attendees to three buckets of skills needed for a career in leadership - Technical, Human, and Conceptual. In this session, Britni gave specific advice on how to sharpen each type of skill for a future in leadership. There was also a hands-on breakout activity that received amazing feedback from our attendees!

Wednesday was a double hitter! We had two sessions focused on interview skills and resumes tips for stand out I/O candidates. Our first session was led by Jasmine Kelly, MPSfounder of Your Career Kickstart. She discussed clever resume writing tips and ways to grow your network on professional networking platforms like LinkedIn. The second session featured Angela Lee, Ph.D.Leah Ellison, Ph.D., and Fatima Terry, M.A..  This trio shared insider tips on being an ideal I/O candidate. Whether attendees were new to the field or seasoned vets, the speakers had so many gems to share with the I/O community!

On Thursday, we talked all about how to turn your personal uniqueness into your MAGIC with Frank Golom, Ph.D. Jimmy Davis, Ph.DKalifa Oliver, Ph.D., and Pamela Lipp-Hendricks, Ph.D.. Each panelist shared personal stories on how their unique qualities have worked in their favor throughout their career!  Panelists reflected on stories of triumph, adversity and lessons learned and how they truly embrace their magic!

On Friday, we closed out the week with two Career Information sessions for entry, mid and senior level career seekers with DCS CorpCMAWonderlic, and Aptima!
