The Weekend Word

Do We Have a

Choice ?

Mat 6:24  "No one can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other.

You see our choice first and foremost depends upon who we serve. It was told to me as a young believer don’t pray for patience. That was some terrible advice by the way. What they wanted me to be aware of is if I were to pray for patience then tribulation would be sure to follow. As a believer that is exactly what we should expect we have chosen to be Yahushua’s servant. Life on this earth will include suffering that is a fact. Life as a believer uses it as a means of sanctification according to our Saviour and His Apostles! Tribulation is an expected part of this process!

Yes but who wants tribulation in their life? Why would you choose to pray for patience? Do I have a choice?

Rom 5:2-3  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Act 14:22  Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

So it is because I chose to give my heart and life to Yahushua that brings about these issues of life. So do I have a choice? Yes I can choose to cooperate with the Ruach of Yah (Spirit of God) and choose His path or choose to resist and rebel against His will for my life. What will I gain if I rebel against His way? What will I gain if I cooperate with His Will?

1Pe 3:12-14  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

Rom 5:3-5  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

So if life on this earth will include suffering then it would seem that the choice is to join with the One who made all things and allow that suffering to produce good in us, or rebel and have evil produced in us.

If we choose to walk away from Him then we have chosen to allow evil to be produced in us instead. Our Choice is a simple one after all choose Yahushua and Life or choose our own selves and evil which produces death. So in answer to the question of choice it becomes very apparent we can and should choose and choose that which is good and right. See the Scriptures below to start your further study and life choices.

Deu 30:15  "Look, today I have set before you life and what is good, along with death and what is evil.

Deu 30:19  "I call heaven and earth to testify against you today! I've set life and death before you today: both blessings and curses. Choose life, that it may be well with you—you and your children.

And carrying forward to the Briet Chadasha  Php 1:10-11 so that you may be able to choose what is best and be pure and blameless until the day when the Messiah returns, having been filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus the Messiah so that God will be glorified and praised.

Choose Life!

Blessings in our Messiah to you all

For here and for all further Scriptural references unless specifically noted we use The King James(KJV) and or The International Standard Version (ISV) for our Scriptural quotes. Please also note we use Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Concordance for added understanding.

For here and for all further Scriptural references when these two words are used; LORD and Jesus please be advised of the following: We do interchange them out of respect to our God.

Wherever LORD is used the actual Hebrew = יהוה Yahuwah H3068
Wherever Jesus is used the actual Hebrew = יְהוֹשֻׁעַ  Yahushua H3091

 We also would like to point out when we use the term (God) we are referring to the One True Elohim’. The I Am of The Scriptures not just any old god. Yah is  His Name reference (Psa 68:4  Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name. Raise up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts, By His Name Yah, And exult before Him.)

We have a further in-depth study on His Names on our website Here.
